Kite Surfing

Not for the faint hearted

You just have to look on the faces of the surfers  to see their passion.

Kite surfers regularly travel a up to 80 km per hr. (approx 40 kn.) Capturing their on water travel and their intervals of “big air” requires a high degree of photographic timing. These images were captured at Wellington Point which is 35km east of Brisbane City, and is a favourite site  for Kite Surfing. It  is described as having the advantages of; almost every wind can be ridden, nearest west wind spot to Brisbane City, and flat water area next to sand bank at mid tide.

While the last gallery image clearly displays the speed of this activity, to really appreciate the skill of the photography have a look at  this  short video shot at Wellington Point.(courtesy Rob F. Youtube).
