NOTE FROM JUDI – I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Whilst I was able to take the photos of my choice, I also chose to put my camera down at each location and just absorb the culture around me. That gave my photography so much more than I could have expected than if I had just photographed the whole time. I feel it is important to experience the culture and witness the different idiosyncrasies within the culture of wherever you are.
Suzanne Edgeworth MGPS President
I joined Julie for a photographic and cultural experience in 2015.The tour was an trip to remember with such diversity of subjects from street people to macro shots of flowers . The Thai cooking class was delicious. Beautiful scenery, spectacular views and an array of portrait opportunities. The festival that was on whilst we were there and the temples we saw were fantastic .
Julie’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the area was exceptional along with the local knowledge and contacts of our driver.
My photography certainly improved and I had a great time with a group of like-minded people. I like to would happily recommend this trip to any one
From Ron Johnson President of Hervey Bay Camera Club
“It was the experience of a life time. It is a cultural & photographic experience. I would love to go every year”

Julie was very helpful and generous with photographic advice and hints for photographers of all levels, especially the beginners. From fishermen pulling in their catch at sunset on the beach, to the national parks and safaris in search of wildlife, then to cultural events and religious festivals, there was scope for everyone to capture some amazing images.
At all times Julie went out of her way to teach and fulfill everyone’s needs and requests. We would thoroughly recommend this adventure to all photographers wanting to sample the sights and tastes of a unique island destination.

Lightroom Lessons
Getting started with Lightroom
Lightroom has become the easy work flow for most photographers, which includes, cataloguing, rating, developing, and exporting with ease. Photoshop has became the program for creative work with layers and returning images back to lightroom for exporting if desired.
Join Julie, Brian and Suzanne to master a program that once you have started using, you won’t go back and your images will be Wow!
Next lessons: Basic Lightroom – Wednesday, 17th July, 2019
Advanced: Wednesday 18th September, 2019
During this introductory course, we will go through the basic features of Lightroom covering importing, sorting, developing with the basic module and exporting images. You will gain practical experience by working on images and be ready to use Lightroom for your image management workflow when you get home!
Advanced Lightroom: Extend on Basics course in all facets from importing with optional presets, metadata, cataloguing. Expand on your rating, and shortcuts. We will continue through the editing/developing modules to cover all the panel with theory and practical. Finishing with exporting and creating your own watermarks and options for creating catalogues for future efficient storage and finding your images.

Lightroom can now easily merge merge multiple exposure-bracketed images into a single HDR quality image while maintaining the contrast without losing detail to highlights and secrets of the shadows in a HIGH CONTRAST situation.
